Alih Jey is a Dominican musician, singer, songwriter and producer. She was the first Dominican nominated for a Latin Grammy in the category of Best Rock Solo Vocal Album for her album “Necia.” Alih reached number 16 on the Billboard Latin Charts with her first single “It’s Ok,” and has received glowing reviews for her albums over the years from Billboard Magazine, KCRW and NPR. 

Alih has penned songs for Ricky Martin, JLO, Wisin, Gloria Trevi, Jessica Simpson, David Bisbal, Paulina Rubio, Jarina De Marco, Dulce María, Ednita Nazario, Maité Perroni, Los Rakas, and more. In 2016 Alih won a BMI award for co-writing Ricky Martin’s hit single “Adrenalina (Spanglish).” She’s also placed music on TV & Film, including Target’s Hispanic Heritage Campaign, La Banda, Discovery Kids, Vida (Starz Series), Inconceivable (Nicholas Cage Movie), The Riveras, La Voz Kids, Bad Girls Club, Fuller House, Rick and Morty and more. 


Throughout the years, Alih has gone on tour supporting Paulina Rubio, Bacilos and Raul Malo. She’s also shared the stage with Ximena Sariñana, Gloria Trevi, Aleks Syntek and Alejandra Guzmán. Alih has played SXSW, LAMC, Dominicana Moda, The Grammy Music Series, Premios Soberano, LALIFF, Hola México Film Festival and The Tonight Show.


Her most recent album “Soy De Peña,” in collaboration with Cuñao, is a tribute to her father Aníbal De Peña, who to this day remains an icon in Dominican Musical History. The first single from “Soy De Peña,” Mi Debilidad, premiered on KCRW’s Pan Caliente and was included in NPR’s Alt.Latino playlist after a glowing review. Alih Jey performed on 25 shows in the Dominican Republic while releasing Mi Debilidad there first, finalizing  the tour with a full house at historic venue Casa De Teatro. “Mi Debilidad” won Best Video at the Indie Dominican Awards in 2020. 

Her debut album is Alih Jey (2001), followed by Gotas de Piel (2004), both with Universal Music, then Necia (2007), Tarte (2011), Car Trouble (2014) and Soy De Peña (2019) in collaboration with Cuñao & produced by Cameron Bartolini. Alih Jey is currently signed to Sony Music Publishing.
